As Ryan's getting taller, he really likes to see just how far he can reach. He's been able to reach the doorknob for about a month now, but has shown no interest in the lock or the dead bolt...which is why I was so surprised - shocked, actually - to find myself locked out of the house yesterday. When I took out the trash, Ryan shut the door behind me like he sometimes does. Little did I know he was reaching way up high and he turned the dead bolt just enough to lock me out. I knocked on the door and Ryan knocked back. He thought he was pretty clever and funny. Of course, all the other doors were locked and we didn't have a spare key in any hiding place. Luckily, I saw that one of the windows was unlocked. So, feeling like the biggest idiot ever, I went to the Montague's house to see if they had a ladder. They didn't, but Dan was tall enough to climb through the window. Now I guess we'll have to keep a key hidden somewhere so that next time this happens, I'll be able to get in by myself.

Locked Out!

That is the funniest story I have ever heard!
If it makes you feel any better, my sister's little boy did the same thing just a month ago. Those little ones can sure be turkeys sometimes!
Oh Man! That could have been really scary, I'm glad it wasn't...I thought the part about him knocking back on the door was too funny. Little smarty pants!
Never underestimate little boys. I've learned many similar lessons!
